February 14, 1947 - February, 10, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dad Andrew or Drew as he was known to all. Dad was born in Fort William to Dr. Jean and John Locking. He was raised in Longlac, Ontario, a community that had his heart and where he met the love of his life Cecile. As a young man he loved the outdoors; going camping, fishing and hunting with his father, and when we were kids the adventures were endless. He continued these activities as a scout and loved learning about the outdoors. But his passions didn’t stop there. He loved music and started his entertainment journey by learning piano. In high school, he played in a local band with his friends. His love and appreciation for music was instilled in us at a very young age. In the end this could be seen in his extensive instrument and music collection. He eventually found a way to use his passion for entertaining when he created the character of Bingo T. Clown. He loved putting smiles on the faces of everyone. Sports was another passion of Dads. He was involved in hockey and baseball both as a player and an official. He was over the moon when his grandkids started playing hockey, this got him back to the rink where he would beam with pride watching them play.
Survived by his daughters, Carol Ann Lauzier (Harold) and Jennifer Topp (Rob Monty) as well as his pride and joy, grandchildren Jessica Topp (Martin Boyce) and Matthew Topp (Emma Visser DiCarlo). Predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Cecile (nee Russell) who passed January 9,2025, also by his parents Dr. Jean and John Locking.
We would like to thank the staff of Hogarth Riverview Manor 6S for their support and compassion, Maricris, Ali and Kola for always being there. We would especially like to thank our family and friends for all the love and support during this very difficult time.
Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place in Mountainview Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Humane Society would be appreciated because as you know dads love for animals was endless.
