Anne Theresa Wowchuk (née Roman), born June 1, 1928, in Port Arthur, Ontario, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024.
Anne lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, marked by her deep love for her family and her active engagement in the world around her. She cherished her time with loved ones, finding immense joy in family trips to Duluth and playful moments with her grandchildren, whether kicking a soccer ball or playing hide and seek. Anne also delighted in her coffee time and people-watching at Intercity Mall, which became a cherished part of her daily routine.
Before embracing her role as a devoted mother, Anne worked with pride in the cosmetics department at Eaton’s, where her commitment to elegance and presentation became a lifelong trait.
Anne was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her legacy of love, grace, and joy will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Anne is survived by her daughters, Kelly (Tim) Beck and Lesley (Joe) Deleo, her beloved grandchildren Jamie and Tyler Beck, her brother Ed Roman and sister-in-law Helen Roman. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, including the special connection she had with her sister Zena’s children: Gerri, Richard, Gordon, and James Wong, and her grandnephew Jason Wong.
She was predeceased by her husband William Wowchuk, her parents Katherine and Samuel Roman, and her siblings Stella (Tony) Shylo, Olga (Peter) Polonosky, Peter (Louise) Roman, John Roman, Zena (Charles) Wong, Dolly (Frank) Sabatini, and sister-in-law Gayle Roman.

A celebration of life will be held at Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel on Friday, August 16th at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Online condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
Anne will be remembered for her unwavering love, her generous spirit and her devotion to family. Her spirit will live on in our hearts and forever cherished by all who loved her.
