Mrs. Archange Marie Poirier passed away peacefully in St. Joseph’s Care Group on Tuesday, August 4, 2015.
Born in St. Simeon, Quebec she and her husband Paul came to Thunder Bay in the late 1950’s to raise her family. Archange had a wonderful zest for life, always with a sparkle in her eye and a smile that would light up the room.
She loved to sing, spend time at camp, travel, dance, work in her garden and her winters spent in Florida.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Archange’s greatest joy was found in time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her husband Paul, children Ronald Poirier, Linda (Dominic) Pavone, Diane (Dennis) Martell, Gaston (Kathy) Poirier, Nelson (Janet) Poirier and Allen (Connie) Poirier, 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers and her sisters.
A private family service was held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Ciaran Donnelly presiding. All are invited to join the family in celebrating the life of Archange Poirier on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 1-4 p.m. at the Current River Rec. Centre.
