It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Arthur David Kabernick, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Sunday, January 31, 2016 after a short illness. 

He was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  He came to Thunder Bay working for the Canadian Pacific Railway as a trainee, ending up as an engineer with 39 years service. 

He was predeceased by his first born son, David, his parents Sam and Anna Kabernick and brother Raymond, his in-laws Harry St. Louis, Ann and Roy Deck, George and Darlene Meady, William Meady, Louis and Mary Meady and Grant Perry. 

He is survived by his wife Teresa, celebrating 59 years together, his children, Robert, Patty and family, Colleen (Harry) Romu and family, Kenny (Diane) and family, Val Kabernick (Dave Bazaluk) and family and many nieces and nephews, eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sisters, Nora Perry and family, Shirley Kabernick and friend Betty Russell, Mary St. Louis and family, Amelia Meady Mutz and family, June Meady and family. 

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 11:00am in St. Patrick’s Cathedral celebrated by Rev. Monsignor P.M. Stilla V. G. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Care Group Foundation or a charity of your choice. Blake Funeral Chapel is in care of arrangements

Arthur Kabernick will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 11, 2017.
