The family of Audrey Veronica Trodd wish to announce her peaceful passing at the age of 90, Tuesday November 5th, 2024. Audrey died surrounded by her loving children in the comfort of her own home.
Audrey's life was one filled with many challenges and much love, right from the day she was born. She was born in Victoria Harbour, Ontario in April of 1934. Her family welcomed her as the 14th child of what would become a family of 15. She had many people who loved her from that moment and that continued for her entire life.
Audrey married the love of her life, Lionel Leonard Trodd on August 1st, 1953 and together they shared 61 happy years. That union was blessed with three children, Keith Trodd (Lynda), John Trodd (Geraldine) and Alice Villa (Teijo). Audrey also embraced, with love, her 7 Grandchildren Melinda Hill (Joey), Adam Gowen, Neil Trodd, Diana Trodd (Brandon Cochrane), Kailey Filson (Arron), Eric Gowen, and Kyle Trodd. Audrey then had the greatest pleasure of all, loving 6 Great grandchildren Alythea Hill, Aryana Hill and Zacary Hill, Lila Cochrane, Camille Cochrane and most recently Naya Filson. Audrey also had a very big place in her heart for Peter and Rita Gowen, Kari Villa and Tyson Villa.
Audrey is survived by one sister-in-law Gloria Bernard, many nieces and nephews, but has been predeceased by both of her parents and all of her sibling's.
Audrey lived a full and happy life but also faced mental health challenges and physical diseases that made it very apparent to those around her, what incredible strength and willingness to live a good life in the face of theses challenges, she possessed. Audrey was kind, gentle and generous to a fault. She had recently said "she would do it all again if she could". We are proud of her in so many ways.
Audrey's family celebrated a Requiem Mass on Friday November 8th at 10:00am at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church. Interment was at Stanley Hill Cemetery. Donation to any charity of your choice will be greatly appreciated.
