It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father and grandfather on March 22, 2016 with his family by his side at the McCausland Hospital, Terrace Bay, Ontario. He fought a courageous battle against cancer.
Aurele was born May 22, 1927 in Field, Ontario. He later moved to Schreiber, Ontario where he met the love of his life, Shirley Etches. They were married August 7, 1954.
Aurele is survived by his two daughters; Debbie (Gary) and Bonnie (Gino), his grandchildren; Dustin (Chelsea), Evan (Coral), Darryl (Jessica), Kelly (Perry) and Kasey (Tyler), step grandchildren; Shawn (Cindy), Jason (Sarah), Mark (Stacey) and Tiffany, sisters; Alice (Leo), Yvonne, Irene, and brother-in-law Real. He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley in 2007, his brothers; Rodger, Alain, sister Gisele and his son-in-law Mac.
Aurele enjoyed spending time in the bush behind his house, cutting and maintaining the trails, fishing and camping and spending time with his family. Dad was instrumental in creating what is now known as the Christmas tree on the hill.
A memorial service to celebrate dad’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at St. John’s Anglican Church in Schreiber, Ontario at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Diane officiating.
