Barbara Joanne Cameron, age 67 years, of Thunder Bay, Ontario, passed away peacefully during the evening hours on Saturday, April 28, 2018 with her loving family at her bed side.
Barbara was born in Port Arthur, Ontario on May 22, 1950. She attended Hammarskjold High School and college in Sault Saint Marie. Barbara married her sweetheart Doug 14 years ago and together they built a wonderful life together, creating a new home filled with laughter and love. Barbara had a passion for gardening, tending to beautiful flowers surrounding her home. She also enjoyed many summers at Shebandowan Lake gardening outdoors. Barbara and Doug spent many hours out on the lake fishing and around the campfire.
Barbara was happiest surrounded by family and friends, and importantly her beloved husband Doug. Barbara was a wonderful wife, a loving mother, a compassionate sister, and a doting aunt. Barbara's personality would fill a room with her warmth and gorgeous smile. Her humour and easy going a personality served her well in her years as a professional hair stylist. She was hard working with an abundance of strength that she maintained through difficult times.
Barbara is survived and lovingly remembered by her loving husband Doug; her step children William, Wendy, and Doug Jr. Cameron; sister Linda Gerving (Laurie and Rob), sister Mary (Al Hyslop), nephews Rick and Aaron, sister Elaine Robitelle, nieces and nephews Sue, Michelle, John, Joe, sister Barbara (Doug Cameron), sister Patricia Peters (Wayne Ozmar) niece and nephews Tamara, Ryan, Beau, sister Natalie (Lionel Berube), nephews Joe and Tom, brother Joseph Gagliardi, nieces Meghan and Jenna and sister Francine (Larry Michasiw), nieces Alison and Amy; sister-in-law Carole Komistek; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.
She was predeceased by her cherished son Christopher Laurence Jean, father Joseph Anthony Gagliardi, mother Alice Elizabeth Gagliardi (Potti), brothers John Anthony Gagliardi and Richard Frank Gagliardi, as well as numerous cousins, and aunts and uncles.

A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre with a reception to follow. Private burial service for family only will take place at Riverside Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 7, 2018.
