Bernice Nelson

Bernice Olivia Williams Nelson, age 42, passed away on January 27, 2023 in her home in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Bernice was born on January 28, 1981 at McKellar Hospital. She loved her family, especially spending time with her grandson “Sunshine” (Elijah). Her favourite things to do were attending family gatherings and social events, playing pool, listening to music, dancing, powwows, and being outdoors enjoying nature.

Bernice will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her life-long partner Gillis Millette, children Skylar (Hayley), Olivia and Hope, and her grandson Elijah. She also leaves behind her father Bernard Nelson (Tammy Nelson); siblings: Jeff, Nazareth, Cheyenne, Echo, Joshua, Keesha, Nakita (Mike), and Shemia (Nelson), as well as all her aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother Karen Nelson and shomis Fred Williams (Eva).

As per Bernice’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A service will take place on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre beginning at 1:00 pm. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior.

A celebration of life will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens in the spring or summer of 2023.
