Mrs. Beverley Florence Martyn (nee Delyea), age 72 years, passed away peacefully in St. Joseph's Hospice with family by her side on Thursday, July 1, 2010.
Beverley was born and raised in Fort William. She worked for the Department of Lands and Forestry and on September 21, 1957 she married Norman Martyn. Beverley enjoyed knitting, camping, travelling and bowling. She was also an avid bingo player. She liked to spoil her Siamese cats and spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren was very important to Beverley.
Survived by her husband Norman of almost 53 years; children Terry (Delores), Allen (Gayle Green) of Atikokan and Christine (Mark) Halstead and grandchildren Breanne, Brooke and Brittani Halstead. She is also survived by brothers, sisters, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Predeceased by her parents, brothers and sisters.
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Beverley Martyn will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 11:00AM in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 Gore St. West at James with the Rev. Jan Stevenson of Wesley United Church officiating. Interment will be held in Sunset Memorial Gardens at a later date. Should friends so desire, donations in memory of Beverley to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation or to St. Joseph's Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
