Obituary Candle

It is with sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Bradford (Brad) Parr on August 23, 2024, at his home in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He was born February 27th, 1955 in Fort William Ontario the youngest child to Elizabeth (deceased) and Robert (deceased) Parr.

Brad attended Northwood High School and worked various jobs until settling on a career at Manitoulin Transport until his retirement. He made a lot of lifelong friends with his career.

On April 7th, 1977, he married Janice Hagberg, the love of his life, and they were together for 35 years until her passing in October 2012. The day Jan died Brad lost a huge part of his being and she was forever missed by him.

Brad was predeceased by his brother, Robert Parr, and sister, Margaret (Margie) Moore.

Brad is survived by his loving daughter, Jessica Kelly (Chad). Jessica was a beautiful gift born to Brad and Jan later in life and was the apple of both of their eyes. They were both very proud of her.

Brad is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Bill (Mona) Moore, Glen (Chantal) Moore, and Tracy (Larry) Moore Jackson; Jennifer (Leigh) Mork; Becky (Derek) Bousquet; and Brenton (Cindy) Hagberg. He is also survived by many cousins and extended family.

In his younger days, Brad was a fan of the Thunder Bay stock car circuit, both on the track and in the Pit. He had a lot of fun with his CB radio and his call-sign “Crazy Coyote”. He took pride in his many pick-up trucks over the years.

Brad loved watching sports and considered himself a true Maple Leafs fan. He also enjoyed NFL football, NASCAR, and Baseball. His family was never able to change the channel, even if he was asleep on the couch. He would wake up instantly and claim he was never sleeping.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending over 35 years at his campsite at Kashabowie Lake. Brad also had many four-legged sidekicks (Benji, Boots, and Captain). He enjoyed going to Bingo with his friends and the occasional scratch ticket. Saturday morning breakfasts with Ed, Lynne and Uncle Bobby was something he enjoyed thoroughly.

Brad was known as a friend to many people and had a giant heart. He was always helping his neighbours on Ogden Street and at Kashabowie Lake.

As per Brad’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will not be a funeral service. He never liked to be the centre of attention and would have liked if friends and family shared stories of their time together. He will eternally rest with his love Jan, as he hoped they would be reunited once again.
