Mrs. Brenda Arlene Marcellus (née Kellar), aged 72 years, passed away from cancer at St. Joseph’s Care Group Hospice in Thunder Bay, Ontario on 31 October 2023.
Brenda was the beloved wife of Bruce, to whom she was married for over 51 years, mother to Kristina (Wissam) and Kimberley (Rick), grandmother to Owen and Reilly, sister to Trevor, sister-in-law to Judy, Joanne, and Deb, and (great) aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Harry, in 2004 and mother, Margaret, in 2020.
Throughout her life, Brenda also occupied many other roles: teammate on various sports teams in her school days, member of the Girl Guides, lifeguard, student (at various points throughout her life), bookkeeper, community service worker. More recently, she was an Avon sales representative here in Thunder Bay, for which she was a member of the President’s Club for several years.
Brenda enjoyed reading, swimming, and building Lego with Reilly, amongst other hobbies and pursuits. She and Bruce have long enjoyed their trips to the Caribbean to escape Thunder Bay winters, and she had great fun with the ‘Gym Tim’s Swim’ ladies, both in the pool and while enjoying a cup of tea and a chat afterward.
At her request, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Northern Cancer Fund in memory of Brenda. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Center, 575 Central Avenue.
