Brian C. MacDonald, age 77, died peacefully at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital on Tuesday, August 20th, 2024.

Brian was born in Hamilton, Ontario in April 1947. During December of 1957, Brian and his family moved to Red Rock, Ontario for his formative years. Upon graduating from high school, Brian went to work at the local Domtar Mill where he became a qualified stationary engineer. After a short stint as an engineer in the mill, Brian decided to pursue further education and enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts program at Lakehead University. Brian received a degree in History, a subject for which Brian had great passion.

After graduation, Brian’s restless spirit took him in yet another direction – he signed up for a 10-month welding program at Confederation College. Completing that program, Brian spent many years working in construction, manufacturing and forest industry before succumbing to more restlessness.

Brian began his teaching career in 1975. During the early years, he upgraded his skills and qualifications until he completed the Bachelor of Education – Honours Technology Specialist at Queen’s University.

Brian loved his work and working with students in the various technology courses he taught over the years. Upon retirement in 2000, still restless, he became a school bus driver for 12 years working with various companies.

Brian will be deeply missed by his many close friends but especially his daughter, Laura.

As per Brian's wishes, no formal service will take place. An intimate gathering of friends and family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a Charity of Your Choice.
