It is with great sadness the family announces the unexpected passing of Brian Madge on June 16, 2021, at the at of 75 with his wife France by his side.
As a young adult, Brian came to realize that his passion was to become a golf professional and open up a pro shop. He worked for many years as a golf pro at Municipal Golf Course, which led him to fulfill his dream of opening up his own business known as Madgicals Golf Kingdom. After running his business for 32 years, he finally decided to retire in 2018.
Shortly after retirement, he and France found a new passion which was fishing. They set out on several camping adventures and landed at Lac Des Mille Lac. With no knowledge of owning a boat and trailer, everyone knew when the Madge’s came to camp. The fellow neighbours quickly lent a helping hand when a disaster struck, which was often. Little did they know, this would turn into a lasting friendship.
He is survived by his wife France, daughter Jenn Boress, grandchildren Luke, Sophie, Jayden and Branden. His siblings Stan (Lea), Dennis (Debbie), Kevin, Collen (Tom), Mike (Pam), Gerry (brother in law) and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, his infant son Kevin and sister Maureen Klomp.
A private family Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 25 at 11:00 am. The service will be live-streamed on the Blake Funeral Chapel facebook page (www.facebook.com/BlakeFuneralChapel) for anyone wishing to view the service. Those wishing to honor his life, please make a donation to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. Thank you to the paramedics, nursing staff, doctors and everyone in the ICU at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
A Father is neither an anchor to hold us back nor a sail to take us there, but a guiding light whose love shows us the way.
Love; Jenn, Luke and Sophie.
