Mr. Bruno Anthony Veneruzzo, age 63 years, of Thunder Bay passed away suddenly in his home on Wednesday, August 25, 2021.
Bruno was born on May 22, 1958 in Fort William to Maria and Giovanni Veneruzzo. He attended St. Martin School and Westgate Collegiate. Bruno had a great love of music, starting in high school where he played alto saxophone, and was a member of the Westgate Concert and Stage Band. He was also proud of the disco ball that he made and installed in the Westgate gymnasium, and which most probably still hangs today.
Bruno moved to Toronto in 1979 to attend college, graduating from DeVry University with an Electronics Technician Diploma. He then went to work for IBM and Celestica until retirement in 2012. Throughout his years living in Aurora, Bruno used his green thumb that he had inherited from his Dad (Giovanni) to build and maintain many beautiful vegetable and flower gardens at his home. Gardening was a true passion that continued all through his life and he was truly proud of his work.
Upon moving back to Thunder Bay in 2014, Bruno spent retirement enjoying the outdoors, and fishing with friends. He also loved being with his family at all of the dinner, birthday and Christmas gatherings.
Bruno will be forever missed by his loving mother, Maria; siblings Louis (Brenda) of Thunder Bay, Irene “Rita” (Angelo) Maronese of Thunder Bay, Daniel (Laurie) of Brampton, Genny of Whitby, and Franco (Kelly) of Thunder Bay; nieces and nephews Jason (Carolyn), Jennifer (Eric), Nicholas, Matthew, Ava, Giovanni and Vincenzo; grandnephews Jaxon and Hayden, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives in Canada, Italy and France.
He was predeceased by his father Giovanni, uncle Antonio Veneruzzo and niece Jasmine Veneruzzo, as well as several other relatives.
Due to Covid restrictions, a private Funeral Mass for Bruno will be held in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Bruno to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation (for Cardiac Care) would be greatly appreciated.
A video recording of the Funeral Mass will be available to view, on the Everest of Thunder Bay website, beginning on Friday afternoon.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.
