Calvin Pearson
On Monday, April 19, 2021, we lost an amazing man and our mentor, Calvin “Cal” (Sonny, Kelly) Pearson. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Cal was born in Fort William, Ontario on October 18, 1941.

Cal was a dedicated husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa. His life changed forever, when he lost his beloved wife of 58 years, Elaine, on May 11, 2020. Cal was a great dad to Debbie (Rick) and Laura (Denis). He was a loving grandpa to Jerry, Stephanie (Stephane), Brock (Leah), Shannon and Brooklynn and devoted great-grandpa to Bailee and Ryleigh. Cal is also survived by his sisters Brenda (Leonard) and Sharon (Rolf) and his brother-in-law Brian (Judy) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

When Cal left this earth, he was re-united with the love of his life, Elaine (nee Stamp); his daughter Pam; his parents Dorothy and Henry, and his in-laws Bea and Bert. It is now their turn to have him back in their arms.

Cal was a Millwright for most of his career, however he was most recently still working part time at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Holy Cross. He had many friends there to visit with and enjoy a cup of coffee, especially with his co-worker, fishing partner and friend, Maurice. Cal spent most of his time outdoors doing what he loved: gardening, fishing, hunting, and making his yard look so beautiful. Hockey was also his passion, playing the game, and always a forever Leaf's fan.

A few special thoughts from his family:

My dad was an amazing man, who meant so much to me; my days will feel empty without you. I will miss our daily calls, someone to cook for and check up on. I will miss his sense of humour which he kept until the very end. Dad, a piece of my heart is missing, but I have many memories to keep you alive in my heart forever. Love you dad and you will be forever missed
- Love always, Debbie xo

Cal, thank for all of the great memories. It's hard to believe all of our fun times together have come to an end. You left a long list of stories to tell from our fishing, hunting, times out at camp, many special occasions, and just shooting the breeze. A down to earth friend who will be dearly missed.
- Love Rick

My Dad, My Mentor - A one of a kind amazing man that I admired & loved. His determination, dedication and pride showed in everything he taught us. A true perfectionist, with a ton of patience. I will sure miss him as my go to Book of Knowledge. Til we all meet again, I Love You Dad, more than you will ever know.
- Love always,  Laura xo

Cal, Thank you for all the memories fishing and all the things you taught me over the years. Thank you for always being there for us with no hesitation. You will be missed.
- Love Denis & Laura  xo

I love you grandpa. Always and forever in my heart and mind. You were a 1 of a kind beautiful soul. Until we fish together again you will always be my guardian angel from heaven above. Rest in peace grandpa.. and give grandma and everyone up there a big hug from us all xo ❤
- Love J.J. and Ryleigh xo

Gramps - The smartest, strongest & best grandpa. I will forever cherish all the wonderful memories camping & fishing with you & grandma. They are forever in my heart ! The only one who had a nickname for me, forever his "Stephy". Your strong hands are now at rest in heaven with your precious Mrs. P. We will miss you dearly.
- Love Stephy, Stephane & Bailee xxoo

Gramps, thanks for being more to me than just a grandpa; you were a second dad and best friend. I will cherish all of our time together through the many lessons you've taught me, and our shared love for the simple things in life. I know you'll be with me in the boat, roaming the dirt roads, and walking through the bush. You will be truly missed, and forever loved. Rest easy.
- Love always, Brock

Grandpa was truly an angel on earth. He was constantly here to listen, as a hand to hold, and a man to make light and see the positive in every situation. Gramps, I will miss your toothless smile, warm hugs, and nonstop jokes. You will be missed tremendously, but cherished forever.
- Love always, your Shannie xo

Gramps was an incredible, hardworking man. You could always count on him for anything; a deep talk, insightful words, and a good time. Thank you Gramps for all you've done and being there for all of my accomplishments, big and small. I will forever be grateful to have had you as a grandpa.
- Love forever and always, Brooklynn

We would like to thank the nursing staff of 1A, and a special thanks to Brittany for being compassionate and caring. Thank you to Pastor Al for his kind words and prayers, as well as to Dr. Klassen for always being there for Cal. We would also like to thank Steven for his daily home visits and another special thanks to Leah for her guidance, love and compassion always.

A Celebration of Cal's life will be held at a later date, when we can all be together and pay tribute to this very special man. Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Cal to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.
