Carrie Abernot

Carrie Abernot passed away at her residence on Tuesday, February 16, 2016.

She was born in Toronto and grew up in Longlac, Ontario and then became a long time resident of Thunder Bay. Carrie’s favorite activities were camping, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survived by sons Steven Abbott and Bradley Abbott (Rhonda); longtime partner Tarmo (John) Tuomisto; grandchildren Jacob Abbott, Sophie Abbott and Jeremy Wesley-Abbott; brothers Donald Alarie (Linda), Michael Alarie; sister Lynn Alarie and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Predeceased by her mother Dell Abernot and her father Richard Laporte.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home with Rev. Gordon Holroyd officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.

Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Mental Health Association in honour of Carrie would be appreciated.
