Mrs. Catherine Duff Podd age 96 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the St. Joseph's Hospice. <br />
<br />
Catherine was born in Motherwell, Scotland and immigrated to Canada as a young girl in 1927. <br />
<br />
After completing her schooling she married Alfred William Podd in 1937 & together they raised three children. The family became members of St. Paul's United Church and Catherine remained so until her passing. <br />
<br />
She was most proud of her "Life Membership from St. Paul's UCW and past Presidency," as well as her many years of volunteer service.<br />
<br />
Catherine will be lovingly remembered by her son James (Elaine) Podd, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. <br />
<br />
Predeceased by husband Alfred "Sonny," son Ian, daughter Vicky, sisters Mae (Bill) Smith, & Gretta (Rocky) Gibson, brother David Adamson, parents James and Marion Adamson. <br />
<br />
According to Catherine's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, March 19, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, officiated by Rev. Hugh MacDonald. <br />
<br />
Private interment will take place at a later date. <br />
