We are deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife and mother, Charlene Marie Shields (Holman) on October 31st, 2015, at the age of 62 surrounded by her loving husband and children in the comfort of her home.
Charlene worked at Naxos Grill and Bar until her illness caused her to retire. She enjoyed the many friendships she made there especially with Lori, Joanne and Chris. Penny and Lisa were like family to her and she spoke highly of them. Prior to working at Naxos she was a long time employee at the Diamond Bingo Hall.
Charlene was born on October 21st, 1953 in Fort William, Ontario. She married Dan Shields on November 28th, 1970 and they had four beautiful children; Daniel; Crystal (Rob) Frasca; Lisa (Darryl) Solomon of Edmonton, AB and Cindy (Dave) Lankinen. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; two sisters: Brenda (Dale) Manahan and Sharon (Al) Hainstock and their families, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
She is predeceased by her parents Norman (2012) and Joyce (1993) Holman and grandson Joshuah Abraham (2001).
As per her wishes cremation has taken place and the family invites friends to a come and go gathering at Jenkens Funeral Home 226 South Syndicate Ave, Wednesday November 4th from 1:00pm-3:00pm.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Northern Cancer Fund.
