The family of Charlie Thomson, age 86, sadly announces his peaceful passing on Saturday, April 19, 2025, with his children by his side.

Charlie was born on June 21, 1938, in Grenfell, Saskatchewan. He spent many years working in the trucking industry and later on as a real estate agent. He volunteered with the Lung Association and was a member of the United Commercial Travellers (UCT). He was excited to be a part of organizing the Santa Claus Parade for many years.

Charlie will be sadly missed and remembered by his children: Betty Anne (Chuck) Grey, Charlie (Kim) Thomson, and Darlene (Dan) Lane; grandchildren: Christina Grey, Tiffany Rogowski (Dominik), Alysha (Zack) Thomson, and Stephanie (Evan) Hamilton; and great grandchildren: Marek and Leo Rogowski, Luke and Benjamin Hamilton. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Dorothy Buchanan; and siblings: George (Renee) Thomson, Barbara Sheare, Bill (Marguerite) Thomson, Flora Kennedy and numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Thomson; parents, Beatrice and James Thomson; brothers, John, Don and Doug Thomson; brothers-in-law, John Kennedy and Frank Sheare; sister-in-law, Stella Thomson; and nephews, Michael and Jamey Thomson.

Charlie enjoyed family, friends, the outdoors, and having a good laugh. He will be remembered for his kindness, humour, and easy-going nature.

His family would like to thank Southbridge Roseview for their excellent care of Dad over his final years. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Bezanson and staff at TBRHSC for their compassion at this difficult time.

Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025, from 1:00-3:00 pm at the Moose Hall Branch 844, 434 Fort William Rd, Thunder Bay. Remembrances will begin at 1:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay, in honour of Charlie's memory.
