It is with deep sadness that the family of Cheryl (Sheri) St. James, nee Campbell, age 71 announces her passing following a courageous one year battle with cancer.

Sheri was born in Emo, Ontario to Bill and Elsie Campbell in 1944. She moved to Thunder Bay with her mother to attend high school where she graduated from Selkirk High School. It is during this time that she met the love of her life and her husband of almost 53 years-Mike St. James. They married in 1963 and had four children- Kathy of Vancouver, Pat (Cheryl) of Thunder Bay, David (Sarah) of Vancouver and Maureen of Thunder Bay. Sheri's children and grandchildren were her greatest loves.

She is survived by her husband Mike, sister Joan, her grandchildren, Michael, John, Coin, Ellandra, Emily, Madison, Hannah and Ellis and brother and sister in laws Maureen and John (Victoria), Donna and Rolf (Campbell River) and Jim and Judy (Toronto) and many nieces and nephews. Sheri dedicated her time to raising her children while supporting Mike and their family business by working in the office at St. James Stereo.

She worked in the Financial Services department at Eatons and then at Laurentian Financial Services prior to retirement. Retirement gave her time to focus on her many passions, one of which was camping in their RV, spending the summer at Kakabeka Falls, surround by family and friends and travelling to Texas annually with Mike where they enjoyed the sun, happy hour, shopping and a stop in Branson, Missouri on the way home.

Sheri was extremely talented when it came to her crafts, home decorating, quilting, needlepoint, wood work, sewing and cooking. Many of her family and friends are blessed with owning one of her hand made quilts and Christmas stockings made with love. She was very handy at building and fixing things and had a knack for home decor.

Her home is a testament to her love of collectibles and folk art. On any given day you would find Sheri decked out in the latest fashion decorated with more than a touch of bling! Hanging out in Texas fed her soul and fashion sense, not to mention her love of texmex and margaritas.

Special thanks goes to her caregivers and constant companions over the past year-her daughter Reen and her two granddaughters, Madison and Hannah. Without their love and support her final year would not have been the same. The family would also like to thank Sheri's nurse, Georgette from CCAC. Sheri looked so forward to her visits which were a constant source of comfort and such a positive influence in the last months of her life.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Margaret's R.C. Church, 88 Clayte St. on Wednesday, January 20th at 11 a.m. followed by a reception held by the CWL at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.

Forever Loved.
Never Forgotten.
