O'CALLAHAN
December 5, 1936 - January 25, 2024
The family of Cletis "Jerry" Jerome O'Callahan, 87 years of age, long time resident of Thunder Bay, originally from Aylmer, QC, are deeply saddened to announce his passing on January, 25, 2024 at TBRHSC, with his family by his side.
Born in Alymer, QC, Jerry was a very dedicated and hardworking family man. He was involved with the building of the CN Tower and eventually moved his family to Thunder Bay. Here, he worked as a welder and crane operator for Canadian Car/Bombardier Transportation, from which he retired after 25 years. He also served as Union steward for local UAW 1075.
No one who has ever met Jerry will ever forget his infectious passion for non-work activities. He could often be found moose hunting, up the Graham Rd and Ouimet Canyon area, hunting for birds on Spruce River Rd, fishing at Whitefish Lake, Dog Lake, Big Sturgeon Lake, Marks Lake & too many more to name.
Jerry will be deeply missed by his former wife and friend, Louise Boucher, whom he forever loved. He is also survived by his children, Lana (Marcel), Steven, Deborah, Shelley, Shawn, & Terry. Jerry was a proud grandfather to Kyle, Justin, Amber, Jessica, Whitney, Daniel, Dawson, Amber, & Jesse; as well as his great-grandchildren, Alexa, Noah, Amelia & Amira.

Predeceased by his parents, Wilfred Joseph O'Callahan and Lola Mae Daley from County Cork, Ireland. Brothers, Wilfred and Donald; sister, Vera; niece, Pat O'Callahan; great-niece, Sharon Trudeau and other extended family.
When a loved one is no longer,

Take a deep breath, then close your eyes and whisper their name,

A special thank you to all of the doctors, nurses and surgical staff of the ICU, as well as the staff of 3C at the TBRHSC.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1pm to 4pm on Sunday, February 4th, 2024 at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 149, 730 SIMPSON ST, Thunder Bay, ON.
Services will be held at a later date this summer, where he will be laid to rest alongside his parents in Aylmer, QC.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to The Canadian Cancer Society, in Jerry’s name.
