COREY LIONEL BROWN
November 22, 1988 – January 16, 2024
Mr. Corey Lionel Brown, age 35 years, passed away peacefully in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, with his loving family by his side.
Corey was born in Sioux Lookout, Ontario on November 22, 1988 to Archie Sakanee and Susan Brown. Throughout his life, Corey faced many health issues, but he never stopped fighting to overcome them. He showed determination and strength no matter what was thrown his way. Corey enjoyed being outdoors, but his greatest passion was time spent with family, especially his grand nieces and nephews. He had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed by all of his family and many friends.
Corey is survived by his girlfriend, Janelle Quequish; his sisters Dolores and Zelda (Marcel); his brother Titus (Trudy) as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family.
He was predeceased by his mother Susan Brown and father Archie Sakanee as well as his younger brother, Derek Brown.
A Wake Service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 10:00am until 12:00pm in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Corey will then be transported home to Kasabonika Lake First Nation, where funeral services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 1:00pm in the Anglican Church. Burial will follow in the Kasabonika Lake Community Cemetery.
