It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Curtis McSweeney who died March 1, 2017. Curt was born August 20, 1933 in Kapuskasing, Ontario and moved to Fort William in his mid twenties where he met his wife Jeanette. He spent his entire career working for Bell Canada until he retired in 1992 and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus 8602 and avid volunteer. Curtis loved people, beer, and a good joke. He was a hard worker who always lent a helping hand with a smile.
He is survived by his wife Jeanette, daughter Cheryl (Tim), sons Terry (Nancy) and Patrick (Kim) and their children Kendall, Connor, Tara, Talia and Mathew. He is also survived by his siblings Maureen, Sheila, Terry and John, and many nieces and nephews with special mention to Tim, Jamie, Todd, Melanie, Chris, Steven, Jim, Joe, Sharon, Debbie, Dan.
Curt was predeceased by his parents Frank and Elizabeth McSweeney, his sisters Pat Lafontaine and Vi Ellis, and his grandson Kieren McSweeney.
The funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday March 11, 11:00 am at St. Patrick’s Cathedral with Rev. Msgr. P.M. Stilla V.G. presiding.
