It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of David Dale Luby on Sunday, November 15, 2015 following his courageous battle with ALS.
David was born in Fort William, Ontario on August 6, 1962, the youngest of 10 siblings. David was employed with various companies including Northwest Timber, Bowater, Lakehead University and most recently Garda Securities until his illness.
He was passionate about cooking and loved to travel with his family. David took great pride in any task he completed and his greatest pride was his family. Survived by his wife of 30 years Bonnie, daughter Cassandra (Aaron), son Landen, brothers Johnny (Eleanor) Langham, Saskatchewan, Florjan (Sharon), Joseph, Edward (Doreen), Danny (Nancy), sisters Florence Mihalich (Michael) Langham, Saskatchewan, Caroline Clavet (Gary), Anna Turcsanyi (Csaba), Mother and Father-in-law Jean and Frank Wojciechowski, brothers-in-law Danny Haney (Heather) and Jack Haney (Lori). Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Predeceased by his mother Josephine in 2002, father Florjan in 1989, brother Stephen in 1958 and sister-in-law Karen Luby in 2006.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 10:00 am at Exhalation of the Holy Cross Church, 415 West Victoria Avenue celebrated by Rev. Yuriy Tykhyy. Private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the ALS Society would be greatly appreciated.
David Luby will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 12, 2016.
