It is with extreme sadness the family announces that Donna Joy Launderville, age 70 years, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, peacefully, with family by her side.
Donna was born on October 30, 1945. She graduated business college and was employed as an office administrator. She married Larry in 1965. After starting their family, Donna decided to stay home to raise their two children, enjoying years of camping and vacations. She was truly a wonderful and supportive wife and mother. Nothing was more important to Donna than her family.
In 1990, Donna and Larry purchased a camp at Obonga Lake where they met many wonderful friends. In 2000, they sold the family home and retired to the lake which had been their lifelong dream. They enjoyed years of fishing, hunting, skidooing together, and found relaxation in each other’s company. Donna especially enjoyed rides on the pontoon boat, socializing with the neighbours at “Miami Beach”. Donna’s strength and love of the outdoors always kept the beautiful, caring smile on her face.
She had an incredible talent for knitting. Everyone who knew her had at least one pair of wool socks or a beautiful sweater. She was also known for her delicious cooking and baking and loved to feed anyone who stopped by, never asking for anything in return.
Donna will be missed terribly by all who knew her and her kindness. She is survived and lovingly remembered by Larry, her husband of 50 years; children, Ted (Alison) and Missy; grandchildren, Luke, Joy (Sean) and Journee; sister, Nancy (Dennis) Blomquist; sisters-in-law, Dawn Guerard and Linda Launderville as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Ted and Joy Guerard; brother, Rod; and brother-in-law, Ken Launderville.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2015 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Rev. Fr. Chris Harper. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Should friends so desire, donations in Donna’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
Not a day will go by
That we will forget
The love, strength and energy
You’ve given to each of us.
