It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donny Lukawy, age 46, on Thursday, February 16, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Donny was born on June 6, 1970 to Morris and Helen Lukawy. He attended high school and college in Thunder Bay and Toronto and finished his education at university in British Columbia before leaving for Europe where he resided for 16 years. During his time in Switzerland, Russia, and the Ukraine he worked as a computer system specialist. He returned to Canada in 2015 and made Toronto his home and was involved in developing computer applications.
As a youngster he was involved in hockey, golf, baseball and was known to win a game or two of pool. Later in life he traveled extensively as he toured much of Asia and Europe as well as Australia, Japan and the Caribbean. He was an avid amateur chef who loved trying new and inventive dishes.
Donny was a true entrepreneur and started his career early in life as a teenager when organizing many shags, musical venues and concert bus tours. As a young man he discovered his love of computers and used his ability to seek out new and exciting business ventures. He had a way of turning them into a success. A fighter to the end, he showed courage, resolution and a zest for living life to the fullest.
