MALTESE- Doreen Maltese, a resident of Dawson Court passed away Friday, September 3, 2010. Dolly was born in Port Arthur on September 24, 1928. She attended local schools and graduated from North BayTeachers College in 1945. She taught in rural areas and later worked in the family business Maltese Grocery. She was predeceased by her parents John and Angelina Maltese, brothers Rocky and John, sisters Arlene, Doretta and Rosemarie. She is survived by her brother Ted (Jean) of Minneapolis, sisters: Debby Hacio (Bill), Diane Maltese and Penny Stovel; as well as by many nieces and nephews. Dolly will be fondly remembered for her love of children. She especially enjoyed her time with her nieces and nephews helping them with their school assignments. A private family service will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street. In lieu of flowers donations to the Schitzophrenia Society of Ontario would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Dawson Court for all the kindness shown to Doreen during her time there and to the doctors, nurses and staff at the T.B.R.H.S.C. for the special care shown to her during her last hours.
