With sadness, at age 78, Dorothy, Dot, Mom, passed away suddenly on June 14, 2024 after a brief stay at the TBRHSC, with family by her side.

Born on December 23, 1945 by her parents, Mary Kunz and Loius Philip Mercier (aka George Adams). Dorothy is survived by her son Raymond (Jennifer), daughter Charlene (aka Sherry), grandchildren: Brennan (Kristin), Kiersten (Ross), Ashley ( Matt), Daniel (Treven) and six great grandchildren: Taurin, Taylor, Hailey, Hunter, Blake, Dean, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many, many friends. All together moms siblings had 48 children.

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents including her eight siblings: Della, June, Eva, Alice, Linda, Phyllis, Robert and Phil.

During Mom’s life she loved to cook for the large family gatherings; Grandma would be there to help then give all the kids money to run down the lane and pile into McKellar Confectionery for pop and chips. The whole family have many memories of piling into cars and going to Chippewa park and meet up with the Bannings to spend the day, we had leave early to gather all the picnic tables together for there was so many of us. Camping was a large part of our summers for many years from Northern Lights to Dog Lake. Mom loved her dogs and they came everywhere we went. Mom also spent many years as a girl scout leader for years and lover her gardens.

We would like to thank all the staff and the doctors at the TBRHSC for the dedication to others during this time of need, the care from her home care Paramed, and Tracy Farrant for her support, care and time, your mothers love shows thru you.

As per my mother’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

Mother you were the last of your immediate family, now you are together again.

Rest in peace. We will miss you.
