Mr. Edoardo Domenis, age 80 years passed away peacefully with family by his side in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, March 17, 2011.
Edoardo was born on Oct. 13, 1930 in Pulfero, Udine, Italy to Eugene and Cecilia Domenis. He came to Canada in 1954 and married the love of his life, Oliva in 1957. Edoardo loved the outdoors, especially hunting and he enjoyed wine-making. His main interest was family, particularly his grandchildren, whom he was very proud of.
Edoardo is survived by his wife of 54 years, Oliva; two daughters Grace (Mark) Governali and Elsie (Gary) Lesovich; three grandchildren Mark Governali and Ryan and Kristen Lesovich; sister Cesira Collesell and two special nephews Dario and Valerio Domenis. Numerous other relatives also survive.
He is predeceased by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Services for the late Mr. Edoardo Domenis will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 leaving the Everest Funeral Chapel, 299 Waverley St. at Algoma at 8:50 a.m. to St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m.
Private Family interment will follow in St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening after 5 p.m. in the Everest Chapel with the Vigil offered at 7 p.m.
If friends so desire, donations made in memory of Edoardo to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
