Mr. Elias Laudo, aged 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2023, in the comforting company of his beloved family.

Born on February 9, 1937, in the town of Boco Carvide, nestled in the heart of Portugal, Elias's life was one filled with love, resilience, and enduring commitment. In the embrace of his homeland, he found his lifelong partner, Hermina, and on June 25th, 1967, they united in marriage. Later that year, driven by a profound desire for a better life, he immigrated to Canada, with Hermina joining him a year later. Together they not only created a loving home but also raised two children, forging a legacy of love and unity. Together they shared a remarkable bond of 56 wonderful years, a testament to the enduring power of love.

During his time in Thunder Bay, Elias worked in the forestry industry retiring from Bowater Canadian Forest Products in 2002. Elias’s entire life revolved around family, and he devoted every waking moment to ensuring that those around him were loved and cared for. His warmth and kindness knew no bounds, touching the lives of everyone he met. Elias was the embodiment of selflessness, a man whose generosity knew no limits. His presence at every major event in the lives of his extended family was a testament to his unwavering support and love. He cherished his family dearly and created countless treasured memories during their gatherings, each moment filled with laughter, love, and joy. Elias's love was not confined to his family alone; he extended his warmth to his friends, becoming a dedicated and loyal companion to those fortunate enough to call him a friend. His compassionate heart and genuine smile made the world a brighter place for all who knew him. Elias leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering support, reminding us all of the profound impact one person can have on the lives of others.

Elias will be lovingly missed and remembered by his adoring wife Herminia, his beloved children Eulalia Graham and Elder (Ashley) Laudo, his most precious grandchildren Lauryn and Michael as well as a wide circle of relatives and lifelong friends spanning across Canada, Brazil, France and Portugal. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
