It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom and Oma, Elisabeth Lipski, on August 18th, 2024, at the age of 92. She passed away peacefully at the TBRHSC TCU with loving family by her side.

Elly was born on July 18th, 1932, in the city of Eupen, Belgium. She is predeceased by her parents, Karl and Maria Fischer, siblings, Karl, Greti, Ursula, Walburga, and survived by her sister Karin and nephew/nieces, Dieter, Brunhilde, and Manuela.

In 1954, Elisabeth moved to Canada and settled in Port Arthur. It is here that she is survived by her daughter Susanne Gomes (Julio) and grandchildren Kayla, Christopher, and Vanessa, daughter Ellen Lee (Trevor) and grandchildren Joshua, Mckenna, and Tyler.

Oma was a jokester and could always make us laugh with her unique sense of humour. She enjoyed sipping her coffee and indulging in a piece of chocolate. Whenever she dined out, she opted for fish and chips, and on special occasions treated herself to a glass of rum and coke. She never forgot about the Tuesday special at KFC or to update us on the upcoming weather. She had a deep love for animals and spent a lot of time tending to her yard, where the grass was always green and the flowers blooming. Omas greatest joy in life though was her grandchildren, she loved to spoil them, and anytime anyone needed anything, Oma was always there.

We want to express our gratitude to the nurses at Bayshore, particularly Charlotte, and also to the 1A staff, Dr. Skunta, and the TCU staff for their kindness, care, and compassion shown to Oma and her family. We would also like to thank Anna, Omas caring neighbor for checking in on her.

As Omas wish, there will be no funeral service held. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date.

Oma, you filled our lives with so much love and left a lasting imprint on our hearts. We miss you deeply and will forget you not. Ich liebe dich.
