Elizabeth Ellen Gabourie (Laughton) age 68 passed away unexpectedly on October 3, 2024, at the TBRHSC. She was born April 14, 1956 in her home in Slate River ON, later moving to Stanley with her parents and 7 siblings.
Liz is survived by her son Tom, siblings Karen, Jim and Barb, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was predeceased by her parents Elva and Tiny Laughton, brothers David, Wesley and Jerry, sister Judy, sister-in-law Donna and brother-in-law Dan.
Liz followed in her mom's (Ma) footsteps and worked at the Stanley Hotel cooking the famous Stanley Burger for several years then went on to be a Chambermaid at the Comfort Inn which is where she retired. In Liz's free time the Jane Fonda Workout was a must. Collecting beautiful dolls was Liz's favorite thing to do...and she had a lot of them. Liz will be deeply missed by everyone.

The family would also like to extend a very special thank you to Liz’s niece Crystal Laughton for all her time and loving care to her Aunty Liz the last several months.
As per Liz’s wishes cremation has already taken place. A family & friend's interment will be at a later date at the Stanley Hill Cemetery.
