Elsie was born on October 9, 1925 in Dryden, Ontario. She was raised and educated there and at 17 moved with her family to Port Arthur. Elsie loved her creator Jehovah and in 1939 dedicated her life to the doing of God's will and sharing the knowledge of God's word which she acquired over many years of diligent Bible Study.
As one of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 70 years, Elsie's strength came from the hope she had for the future and she looked forward to the promise of everlasting life found in John 17:3.
Elsie is survived by her son Mel (Grace) of Coquitlam, B.C., sister Hazel Dring, granddaughters Shawna (Fred Feaver) and Staci (Kevin) Gavin and their mother Wanda Dahl, great grandchildren Kole Gavin and Demi Feaver, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Paul and Florence Pampu, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Predeceased by her husband Peter in 1996, and brother Harold McGuire.
The family would like to express their appreciation to all the staff at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital 1A and Cancer Care and to the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Joseph's Hospice. Special thanks to the brothers and sisters of Autumnwood Congregation who throughout the years have supported and helped Elsie.
