It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn Mary Jane Anness/Kleppe announce the peaceful passing of their beloved wife and mother on February 15, 2025 at Hogarth Riverview Manor in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Evelyn was born to James and Edith Froome on February 18, 1939 in Bergland, Ontario the fifth of six children. As a young girl her family moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario later returning to the Rainy River District where she helped her father run the Co-op store in Stratton, Ontario. It was here that Evelyn met her first love Wayne and on September 6, 1956 they were married and together they raised their family of five in Atikokan, Ontario for 35 years. After the passing of her husband, Evelyn met and married Arne Kleppe on December 23, 1996 sharing 29 years together.

Evelyn led a busy life raising 5 children and enjoying many outdoor activities with family and friends. One of her favourite outdoor activities was taking the family boat and spending the day fishing on Steep Rock Lake with her family and close friend Glimpy. They would spend the day enjoying each other's company and most of the time would return with a limit of walleye for a delicious family fish fry. Evelyn enjoyed drawing and creating beautiful knitted and crocheted items for her family. Her faith remained strong, sharing with many around her, she especially loved singing hymns with those she loved.

Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Edith and James Froome, her husband Wayne Anness, her daughter Louise Howson, her brothers Garnet Froome and Dale Froome, her sisters Lorraine Fell and Merle Penny. Evelyn is survived by her husband Arne Kleppe, daughters Cynthia (David) Towle, Catherine Anness (John Pringle), Kimberly (Maurice) Kaus, her son James (Leanna) Anness, sister-in-law Audrey Froome, grandchildren Christopher, Bradley, Matthew, Paul, Jason, Ashleigh, Marissa, Erika, Cole, Kacie, Rikki, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, in memorium donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (https://cancer.ca/en) or the Alzheimer's Society (http://www.alzheimer.ca/) A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
