It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Evelyn Sharon Makolowich, a beloved wife, Mother, Grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, on January 30, 2025 at the age of 68.
Lyn was born to parents Helen and Walter Himes on August 19, 1956.
She leaves behind her loving husband Lorne "Nick" of 47 years, daughters Kara and Hillary (Aidan), grandchildren Callum and Emma, furry companions Barney, Spike, and Daisy, brother Albert, and many dear friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Helen and Walter Himes, and brother Steve Himes.
A special thank-you from the family to the doctors and nurses of Thunder Bay Regional Hospital for their compassion, care and support.
Lyn was a lovely woman. Beautiful and stylish. She possessed a delightful sense of humour which made this world a bright place when in her presence. She was truly an amazing person. We are fortunate to have shared her life.
Words will never begin to express how much we will miss her, and how much we all loved her.
As per Lyn's wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Thunder Bay District Humane Society.
