The family of Fred A Brown are saddened to announce that he passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Hospice.
He was born in Fort William on Oct 7, 1950 and attended local schools. After graduating from Selkirk High School, Fred worked with various companies over the years as a general labourer and forklift truck operator until his retirement.
He followed the Toronto Blue Jays games and enjoyed building model cars and trucks of which he accumulated a large collection. Along with his brother Neil and friends built the family camp at Mawn Lake where he spent many summers boating, fishing and enjoying the friendships of the other campers.
He is survived by brothers: Tom (Beausejour, Manitoba currently here), Neil and Sister Marjorie (Rob). Nephews Roy (Ferial) and family in Edmonton, Alberta and Bill and Frank of Beausejour, Manitoba. Also survived by sister-in-law Liisa Salatino and her daughter Cynthia and family. As well as aunts and cousins.
Fred was predeceased by his wife of 34 years Maureen (nee Salatino) in May 2023, his mother Gene E Brown (nee Kearney), his father Royden T Brown, sister-in-law Linda (nee Boyer) Brown, brother-in-law William (Bill) Salatino and in-laws Carmen and Rose Salatino.
Cremation has taken place and no service will be held. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024 at the Slovak Legion, Solarium Room from 2 – 4pm.
