It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Gerald Glenn Boucher on November 8, 2023. His passing was peaceful with his children by his side.
Gerald was born in Fort William, Thunder Bay. He was raised in Upsala with his parents and one brother. There he grew up making friends, attending school, various employment and enjoying small town living. He attended Selkirk High School. He would later return to Upsala to raise his family of 3 children.
Gerald enjoyed watching his Toronto sport teams, whether it was baseball or hockey. He enjoyed mechanics at work or at home on his own personal vehicles. Gerald was also an avid reader. He looked forward to seeing what was new in the daily local newspaper or reading about world events/concerns in the National Geographic. Anyone who truly knew our father knew he had a soft spot for cats. Gerald enjoyed his social life, over the years making many friends/acquaintances in the Upsala/Raith area.
In his early years he worked for the MNR, as a firefighter. Then at Upsala Forest Products as a heavy equipment operator/dump truck driver.
He is survived by his brother, Albert. His children Elizabeth (Larry) Maxwell, Rene (Tracey) Boucher and Monique Boucher. Grandchildren, Jason, Austin, Mason and Abryl. One great granddaughter Juliette. And nephew Jean-Paul Boucher. He is predeceased by his parents Moses and Sylvia Boucher.
The family would like to extend our deepest thanks to all the caring staff at TBRHSC and St. Joseph’s Care Group who helped make our father’s remaining days comfortable.
A celebration of life will take place in Upsala at the Upsala Community Centre, November 19, 2023 at 12pm.
