Gerald Halstead formally of Thunder Bay passed away peacefully on October 6, 2024, in Kingston ON, at the age of 83. He was born September 14, 1941, to Herman and Patricia Halstead in Port Arthur ON. He lived and worked around the automotive and trucking industry throughout Northern Ontario his whole life up until his retirement in 2015 while living in Sault Ste. Marie. Butch liked to stay busy and continued to work as a care taker of several condominium/apartment complexes in the Soo area along with his wife Valerie after retirement. Butch was involved in several car clubs in his early years in Thunder Bay and also helped start up the Superior Kart Association back in the early 80's. After his wife Valerie passed in 2018, Gerry moved to Kingston ON, to be close with family and live out the rest of his life with his dog and sidekick Sumi.
As his wishes there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place.
