Gilda DeVuono, age 95 years passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Roseview Manor surrounded by the love of her family. Born April 29, 1929 in Belsito, Cosenza, Italy to parents Carmen and Josephine Cozza. Gilda worked at Kemp Fisheries and Shaw’s Bakery. Gilda had a passion for knitting and loved watching her favourite TV shows. She loved to socialize with her family and friends whether at her home or on the phone and loved going to church. Maintaining her garden was where we would find her often, watching her flowers and tomatoes grow.
Gilda will be lovingly remembered by her sons Dino (Trish) and Joe, her grandchildren/great grandchildren, Marisa and Traci (Brandon) Couture and their son Luca, Daniela Ross (Ryan) and their daughter’s Scotlynn and Sienna, Nathan DeVuono (Kim) and their son Brady, Stephanie Veltri (Justin) and their daughter’s Kinsley and Kyley, as well as siblings and other family members.
Gilda was predeceased by her husband Francesco and son Anthony.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Scali, Dr. Coccimiglio, Tanner Dunn (RN) and the nurses and support staff at Roseview Manor for their care and compassion.
A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at St. Anthony’s R.C. Church with Rev. Luigi Filippini officiating.
