Gino Compardo

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gino Compardo at TBRHSC on September 27, 2022 at 68 years of age.

Gino was born on November 12, 1953 in Fontanafredda, Italy to parents Luigi and Maria. He moved to Canada with his family in March 1958 and has lived in Thunder Bay since that time. He is survived by his siblings: Grace (Arrigo), Della (Fred-deceased), Ermano (Pierina), Ennio (Fernanda), Alida (Olivo-deceased), and Diana (Ivan-deceased). He also has many nieces and nephews.

Gino will be fondly remembered for sharing his love of music and his love of laughter. He loved to entertain by playing his guitar and singing his favourite song, “Pretty Woman”. Gino loved to make people laugh and found himself pretty funny. That smile melted many hearts.

Thank you to the doctors and nurses on 2A at TBRHSC, who cared for Gino over the last couple of weeks. A special thank you to Nurse Brian.

Many thanks to the caring staff at Pioneer Ridge, who have cared for Gino over the years. The family appreciates all that they have done for him.

Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family service at a future date. Arrangements entrusted to the Blake Funeral Chapel, 200 May Street S.
