Junior passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends. As a Husband, Dad, Grandfather, Great-grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Father-in-law and best friend he touched the lives of many people.
Junior in his younger years, was an all-around gifted athlete. The path he chose for his career was in Hockey. From 1952 to 1956 he played for the Boston Bruins and the Hershey Bears.
When he retired from hockey, he had numerous careers. In 1985 he opened Wilson Insurance, retiring in 1999. After retiring he and his wife spent their winters in Barbados and Florida. They also enjoyed their home at Surprise Lake where all family and friends would gather for saunas, swims, laughs, music and drinks.
Junior is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Joan, his children Valerie (Don) Rose, Wendy Nieminen, Gary Wilson, Gordie (Karen) Wilson and Glen (Rosey) Wilson. Grandchildren, Chelsea Peterson, Sterling Peterson, Brennan Nieminen, Gary (Ahn-Lan) Wilson, Ryan Wilson, Lindsey (Sean) Serino, Kaela (Justin) Danielewski, Kirsten (Max) Bernosky, Vincent and Lucas Pelaia and Luisa Wilson. Great grandchildren, Colton, Austin, Logan, Elliot, Edison as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Junior was predeceased by his parents Gordon (Phat) and Rita Wilson, brother Connie (Jennie) Wilson and sister Mona (Paul) Joy.

A celebration of life will be a “Happy Hour” on Friday, October 13th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Italian Cultural Centre, 132 Algoma Street South. If you are not able to attend, raise a glass at 5:00 o’clock somewhere in honour of Junior.
