Gwendolyn Blake (Lewis), aged 63, passed away on April 18, 2024, in Thunder Bay surrounded by family.
Gwen was born on January 6, 1961 in Oakville, Ontario. Gwen graduated from Confederation College’s Developmental Social Worker program and then worked within the social services field for 15 years within the Thunder Bay area. In her work with various employers such as Wesway and the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board, she touched many lives.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Peter Blake, married for 25 years; her twin sons Richard and Donald (Melissa) Kannegiesser; her brother Donald (Tracy) Lewis, her granddaughters Amelia Kannegiesser and Eloise Kannegiesser, and her grandsons Joseph Kannegiesser and Gerard Kannegiesser.
She is predeceased by her father Richard Lewis, her mother Betty Johnson (Parker), her brothers Rick Lewis and Kenneth Lewis, her daughter Dena-Rae Kannegiesser, and nephew Torr Lewis.
In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations may be made in Gwen’s memory to the TBRHSC Cancer Centre or to a charity of their choice.
