"The Lord is my Light and my Salvation"
Psalm 27 vs 1
1929-2024

On October 6, 2024 Heero Hiutsing went to his eternal home to be with his heavenly Father.

Heero was born in Winsum, Netherlands on August 24, 1929 to Jan and Geertruida  Huitsing. He married his beloved wife Klaazina in 1953 and immigrated to Canada a few weeks later. They settled in the Thunder Bay area and raised 9 children. They were together as husband and wife for 65 years. Aside from his work Heero loved to spend time in his garden. He was an avid reader. This gained him much knowledge and wisdom and he used that in his life, his work and his faith which he shared with many.  He was also a member of the historical society and loved Astronomy.

While still in the Netherlands Heero spent two years at trade school, a year in the Dutch army and then apprenticed at an Architectural Firm. When he immigrated to Canada his first job was at Hills Greenhouses. He went on to work in construction at Silman and Biltrite until he became the Production Manager of the truss plant at Unitized Manufacturing until his retirement. During his retirement he enjoyed drafting homes for people in the community.

Heero is survived by his children Willy (Mike) Folkema, John (Joanne ✝) Huitsing, Harry (Sylvia) Huitsing, Hans Huitsing, Geri (Lou) Kingma, Theresa (Martin) Henny, Pete (Sheila ✝) Huitsing, Angela (Randy) Vankooten, Krista (Al) Roote; 30 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; his brother Gerrit (Gladys) Huitsing, sister in law Tiny (Hans ✝) Huitsing, brother in law Jack (Irene) Heerema and Ed (Willy ✝) Grootenboer and many nieces and nephews
