Helen Krisko

Helen (Gluta) Krisko passed away peacefully on February 3, 2023. Helen was born and raised in Thunder Bay (Fort William) on June 1, 1927 to parents Mary and Steve Gluta. Helen attended Crawford School, Selkirk High School and graduated from the special commercial course. After graduation she worked for the Canada Revenue Agency. She met the love of her life, Ted Krisko, whom she married in 1947 and they celebrated 61 years together. They had 2 children, Donelda and David.

She was a long-time and active member of Broadway United Church and she loved to sing in the choir.

Survived by daughter Donelda; grandchildren Steven and Laura; daughter-in-law Jane Krisko; grandchildren John and Beverly. Our mom was the proud great grandmother to Zev Maddison and Trevor Krisko. Predeceased by her husband Ted in 2008; son David in 2015 and brother Eddie in 2017.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. For those who wish, a memorial donation may be made to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre or the charity of your choice.
