It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our much beloved and adored wife, mother, Nonna, and great Nonna, Iole Assunta Gazzola on Tuesday, October 20th 2015 following a long and lengthy battle with cancer.

Iole was born November 13th, 1935 in Aprigliano, Cosenza Italy. She immigrated to Canada on March 6th, 1958 and married the love of her life Ugo on October 30th, 1958.

Together they raised a family of three children and had many years of love, joy, and cherished memories with her family and close friends. She was a member of St. Dominic’s R.C.Church. She was an avid gardener and took pride showing her garden and greenhouse.

She cherished preparing family dinners and any occasion where she could spend time with her family.

She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her husband of 59 years, Ugo Gazzola, children; Annie Manryk, Josie (Shaun) Daniels, Joseph (Lillian) Gazzola, grandchildren; Stephanie (Jeff) Barber, Jeffrey Manryk, Kristyn Manryk, Amanda Daniels, Joshua Daniels, Matthew Gazzola, Jessica Gazzola, great-granddaughter; Penelope Barber, sister Lena Gazzola.

She was predeceased by her parents Raphael and Virginia Pellicano, her brothers Salvatore and Leonardo and sisters Zizina, Gina, and Rita. Thanks to longtime friends Helena Gerolami and Bruna Micheli for all your love and support. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015, when family and friends will gather for funeral mass at 10:00am, at St. Dominic's Church celebrated by Rev. Maurizio Maifredi  c.s. 

Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation for friends and family be held on Thursday October 22 2015 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel. Vigil services will be offered at 8:00pm in St. Dominic's Church.  If friends desire memorials to the Northern Cancer Fund would be appreciated.

Iole Gazzola will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.  Annual dedication service Sunday, June 12, 2016.
