Miss Irene Ann Gushel
age 77 years, resident of Thunder Bay, died in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, on Friday, March 26, 2010. Irene was born and raised in Fort William and attended St. Peter’s School. She retired in 1983 as a Nurses Aid working at McKellar General Hospital, Port Arthur General Hospital, Fort William Sanatorium and Westmount Hospital. Irene is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Mary (Letwin) and Nick Gushel, five brothers, Fred, Charlie, John and Bill Sameluk and Walter Gushel, four sisters Mary Kanko, Kay Bertrand, Dorothy Humeniuk and Nettie Unick. Respecting her wishes cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place at a later date in Mountain View Cemetery.A tree will be planted in memory of Irene Gushel in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 12, 2011.
