It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mrs. Irma Elizabeth Cutbush age 75 years on Monday April 11, 2016.
Born on September 16, 1940 in Port Arthur, Irma led a very active life. She was a graduate of North Bay Teacher's College and Lakehead University and was a supply teacher for many years, working for both the Public and Catholic School Boards. Irma was a very concerned and active mother and grandmother. A lifelong member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Irma enjoyed Wednesday afternoon card games at Current River Recreation Centre, and mornings at Volunteer Swim Fit. She attended many plays at Magnus Theatre over the years, and always had good times with her friends from P.A.C.I., Banning Street and Cornwall Street. A great family gardener, she was also fluent in the Finnish Language and heritage.
Survived by: sons Craig (Marilyn), Brian (Rose), special grandsons Tyler and Hunter, sister-in-law Loretta Cutbush, nephew Rob Cutbush (Katriina Myllymaa), niece Susan Kilby (Scott Kilby), great nephews Matthew Kilby and Noah Kilby, cousin Nea in Washington DC, also other family in Finland.
Predeceased by her father Jack Pollari in 1995 and mother Laina Pollari in 1990, husband George Cutbush in 1984 and son Jon Cutbush in 2006, aunt Linnea Kuusisto, brother-in-law James Cutbush and family in Finland.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 10:00 AM in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, corner of River and Farrand Streets, with Pastor Matthew Diegel officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for friends will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:30 PM in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma.
