The family of Irvin Scott are saddened to announce his passing on Friday, July 14, 2023 in Thunder Bay, Ontario at the age of 52.

Born in Ottawa on November 29, 1970, he grew up in Englehart, Ontario with his parents Jack and Lydia Scott. Irvin loved fishing, hunting, swimming, and gathering/foraging mushrooms every season. One of his favourite pastimes was wood working; he also loved spending time with friends and family when he had the time. He listened to contemporary Christian music but also had other favourite songs like Eye of the Tiger by Survivor, The Gambler by Kenny Rogers and The Final Count Down by Europe; anytime he heard these songs, he would turn up the volume and sing along loudly. Irvin completed the Native Child and Family Worker program at Confederation College and was working part-time on his degree in Psychology at Lakehead University.

Irvin is survived by his wife Charlotte (Beardy), daughter Shannon, parents Jack and Lydia Scott, brother Stephen and close cousins: Tony, Stephen, Donna and Stephanie. He was predeceased by his aunt Carrie, cousin Linda, parents-in-law, Absolom and Rhoda Beardy, and two brothers-in-law, Bryan Beardy and Jimmy Beardy.

The family acknowledges and thanks his friends Jeff Randle, Daryl Bear, Jason Freeman, and Pastor Roma Fisher for their love and support towards him when he was alive. We also thank and acknowledge the staff of Faith City Church and Pastor Roma Fisher who have helped with the funeral service arrangements and the Harbourview Funeral Centre for their services.

A Celebration of Life for Irvin will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Faith City Church, 360 Black Bay Road, in Thunder Bay, Ontario at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor David McQuaid officiating.
