It is with heavy hearts the Todd family wish to announce the death of James Geoffrey Todd, age 78 years, with his family by his side.

Geoff is survived by his wife Valerie (Leroux) of 56 years, his sons Michael (Lisa) and Colin (Yvonne), his 5 grandsons: Christopher, Graeme, Braeden (Brittany), Keagan, Ryder and special granddaughter Victoria, nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Donna (Jim) and brother Barry (Katherine).

Geoff was predeceased by his mother Marjorie, parents James and Edith Todd, nephew John, brother James Headly (Donna), sister-in-law Wendy (Joe) Molly, and mother and father-in-law George and Hilda Leroux.

Geoff came to Canada in November 1954 with his mother Edith and brothers Barry and Jimmy to join their father in Fort William, residing in Westfort on West Amelia St.

He was a member of the LSSR in his youth, then joined the Regular Force in 1962 serving with 1 and 2 RCR. He was then posted to Germany, London, Gagetown, Petawawa, Sioux Lookout and Moose Jaw, returning in 1988 to Thunder Bay. Geoff also served with the UN Peace Keeping in Cyprus in 1973 and 1974. Geoff also served as Commanding Officer for 84 RCACC and in the summer as Finance Officer for the Air Cadets in Cold Lake.

Geoff attended Heath Park and Kingsway Schools, Westgate High School and he graduated from Confederation College in Accounting and Finance.

Geoff and Val enjoyed travelling to many popular places, visiting his brothers in Winnipeg and Victoria and travelling to the US.

Geoff enjoyed meeting his buddy Moe Krisko at the Elk’s and the Army and Navy, where they discussed many topics including world affairs and cooking recipes.

Cremation has taken place and a Come and Go service was held Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Army and Navy.

The family wish to thank the nurses on 1 and 2A at TBRHSC for the care he received, the VON, especially Chantal for his home care and the Cancer Clinic.

The Todd family also wish to especially thank everyone for the cards, flowers, food and calls. They were very much appreciated.
