Jane Ann Clarkson, age 79 passed away peacefully at Pioneer Ridge on February 19th, 2016. Jane Ann was born in Fort William in 1936 to Verna and Bill Murray. She lived in Thunder Bay until her marriage to Ron Clarkson in her early 20s.

Ron was a pilot with the Royal Canadian Air Force and was posted during that career to Germany and almost every province in Canada. Jane Ann moved with him.

The two also travelled extensively throughout Europe and North America. Jane Ann's working career included a short time at Eaton’s and many years at Deer Lodge in Winnipeg working as a recreation therapist with individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Following retirement, Ron and Jane Ann returned to Thunder Bay.

Every summer Ron and Jane Ann headed to Silver Islet, the place they both considered their home and every winter they went south to Mesa, Arizona where warm weather and wonderful friends made for many enjoyable winters.

Jane Ann was described by those who knew her as "a lovely, kind lady", "always friendly and always welcoming". She is remembered by her family as a loving and wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Her loves in life were Ron, her family and Silver Islet.

She will be remembered and missed always by her son Steven Clarkson, daughter Rhonda O'Hagan, daughter-in-law Susan Clarkson, son-in law John O'Hagan, grandchildren, Colleen O'Hagan, Kevin and Hannah Clarkson, Ryan and Shannon Clarkson, great-grandchildren Benjamin Clarkson (pre-deceased), Tobiah Clarkson, Chloe Clarkson, Sister , Lynda Perrier, brother, David Murray, sister-in-Laws, Sharon Murray, Marge Romick, brothers-in-law, Rick Perrier, Dave Fedorchuk, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Pioneer Ridge for the wonderful care they provided during the short time she lived there.

A combined Celebration of Life will be held for Ron and Jane Ann at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016, in the Chapel of Sargent and Son Funeral Home, 21 North Court Street. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society or Pioneer Ridge Care Home would be greatly appreciated. On-line condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com
